MissionThe Associated Students of Claremont McKenna College, as recognized by the Articles of Incorporation, was founded to enrich the lives of the students of the college. With these ends in mind, ASCMC, also known as the Corporation, consists of, amongst other things, a Student Senate, several entertainment-oriented committees, a Campus Organizations chair to oversee student endeavors and activities. ASCMC supports a student newspaper, The Forum, and a yearbook, The Ayer. Each student, through the payment of his/her student body fee, becomes a shareholder and a member of the Corporation and is eligible to run for an elected office, an appointed position, or become a senator. The operating budget of this 501(c) organization is in excess of $250,000 (FY 2008-09).
