The Senate meets every Monday night in Bauer Forum at 10:00pm. Meetings are open to the public. One can become a voting Senator after attending three consecutive meetings or attending the first meeting of the semester. Please submit all inquiries and requests to the Senate chairperson. Senate CommitteesSenate maintains standing committees which aim to address the various issues which pertain to the operation of the Corporation. Below is a list, followed by its chair and a brief description. These chairs serve a term concurrently with the Senate President. Academic AffairsTBA | Acts as the liaison between ASCMC and the Office of the Dean of the Faculty, and as such, handles issues pertaining to the college curriculum and teaching review. The Chair is a standing a member of the Curriculum Committee. Administrative AffairsTBA | Performs constitutional reviews and administrative tasks assigned to it by the ASCMC Vice President, such as the management of the Student Directory Athletic AffairsTBA | Works to ensure student participation in athletic events as well as maintaining school spirit Computing & TechnologyTBA | Acts as a liaison between ASCMC and all academic computing matters of the College. The chair is the ASCMC Chief Technology Officer and is a standing member of the Academic Computing Committee and the Web Committee EntertainmentTBA | Aims to provide student input in decision making by the Board of Directors and the Dean of Students with regards to entertainment brought to the Claremont Colleges Human AffairsTBA | Discusses various inconstant issues relating to student life on campus that are not specifically addressed by the Corporation Faculty and Trustee AppointmentsThe Student Senate is responsible for filling seats on College faculty committees as well as College Board of Trustees committees. The Senate President is responsible for soliciting applications and making appointments, subject to the approval of the Senate. Confirmed appointments for the 2010-2011 academic year are as follows: Judiciary Board JusticesEach spring semester, the College Judiciary Board Selection Commitee selects three Regular Members for appointment to the Claremont McKenna College Judiciary Board and. Justices serve for a two year term their Junior and Senior year, and serve on the ASCMC Judiciary Board as well. The Selection Committee consists of the ASCMC Vice President, the senior Justices of the current College Judiciary Board, and two Senators selected by the Senate. The current justices are below: |
